What is home for you?

There have been five months leaving between countries and suitcases. Moving from Albania to from Romania… with all the trips, 5 days here,

10 days there, it has been quite hectic… and in the evenings, when one is tired and worn out it’s more present that desire of going home.

But, where and what is home? Is it where you live now with a family? What if you are living alone?

Having lived in five countries and visited over forty, it is a state of mind and a place where where my heart feels well and safe. As someone said "we shape our homes, and then our homes, shape us".

For me, it is clearly not where my belongings are. It is where I have the tranquility and the feeling of comfort and love. Currently, it is a place where my husband and my sons are willing to hear me, willing to support me, without judging nor blaming for something I did or did not do- and vice versa.  Encouraging each other even in moments of doubt or exhaustion, or keeping each other grounded in moments of exaltation.

No matter if living alone or with someone, home is is where I live in emotional, psychological and physical safety at a given time.

What about you?
